This Mennonite Dances

It is that time of the year again when all of the best djs and artists go on these amazing tours. Living in Boston allows for all of my favorites to come to me! I realized the other day that I have a terrible case of FOMO (fear of missing out) which causes me to buy tickets to almost any show that comes into town – to a point where I will buy tickets to two shows for the same night and make sure that I make it to both.  Or like last night, organize a work event and then dash home to change, dump my car and power through a “cigar” (hey, I still have to be careful about my web presence). Unfortunately  for the past two years I have had this thing called a job that I really like and would like to keep, but waking up for work after an awesome night out is becoming one of the most difficult things to do…period. My weeknight show attendance is on the decline and the fear of missing out is blowing up.

The other caveat? The music that pours into the concert halls causes my legs to start twitching, my body to start moving and my arms to start flailing – some may call it dancing, but after being raised Mennonite (and not being allowed to dance), I better not offend the community with my openness on just how much I “bust a move.”  My apologies to anyone that I may have offended, but do know that I (dance) on a weekly basis… sometimes daily.

Last night, it was Dillon Francis at the House of Blues in Boston, and next week… my favorite: GRiZ!!!!. If you haven’t done so already, I would check him out. Not going to lie, I would love to do a little than just dance with GRiZ 😉   (sorry mom).

I dare any Mennonite, actually anyone for the matter to listen to this and NOT start tapping your foot along:

I can not wait to get down. MMm so good.
